More of our work
We have worked on a wide variety of projects across a range of industries.
WestpacTrust Cricket Stadium, Hamilton
North Harbour Stadium, Albany, Auckland
LDP managed the sports lighting design for the main stadium, ensuring compliance with international colour television broadcast standards, as well as international, provincial, and club-level playing and training requirements. Additionally, the adjacent external playing fields were designed to meet NZ Soccer, FIFA standards, and club training specifications.
Western Springs Stadium, Auckland
LDP oversaw the design and supervision of a major lighting upgrade to accommodate televised broadcasts of motor racing on the outer circuit and rugby on the inner field.
North Shore Events Centre, Auckland – Ongoing
LDP designed the lighting for the 2009 U19 Basketball World Championship, the 2007 U21 World Table Tennis Championship, and the 2008 and 2009 NZ National Badminton Championships. The team developed a unique, flexible lighting system that allows the centre to easily configure lighting for various sporting codes, accommodating both club events and major televised tournaments.
Trafalgar Park, Nelson
We provided expert advice to Nelson City Council on the environmental impacts of upgrading the stadium for the Rugby World Cup. Our team collaborated with the park’s lighting supplier to achieve the required standards.
Eden Park, Auckland
LDP was responsible for the review of the lighting for Auckland Council. We were engaged by the Eden Park Trust Board for advice, peer review and recommendations to achieve quality lighting for the 2011 Rugby World Cup and International Cricket World Cup for HDTV broadcasts.
Avantidrome, Velodrome Home of Cycling NZ, Cambridge, New Zealand:
LDP Ltd was engaged to design, specify, and supervise the new national cycling training & competition facility. This was designed to the Category 1 UCI homologation standard, including HDTV broadcast lighting.
Commonwealth Games Velodrome, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
LDP’s personnel were integral in the electrical and illumination services design, specification, and supervision of this world-class cycling training & competition facility. The design adhered to the exacting UCI standard, including TV broadcast lighting considerations and requirements.
Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Kapiti Coast, New Zealand
Aquatic Centres require specialised expertise to ensure equipment is carefully selected to withstand the corrosive effects of heated, humid, chlorinated air and water. Electrical safety is critical, particularly regarding step potential and exposed metal components. Precision is also essential when penetrating the vapour barrier to prevent corrosion in the building structure. Leveraging extensive experience in this specialised field. LDP managed the design and oversight of all electrical services, including power, lighting, security, and communications.
Alpine Aqualand, Queenstown
This project encompassed most of the primary elements of lighting design challenges within a single space – technical performance, visual enhancement, and creative effects.
The client wanted a lighting solution to enhance patrons’ enjoyment of the facility while providing a safe environment using equipment suited to the corrosive pool air. The solution needed to be cost-effective, energy efficient and suited to the long-term owner.
Internationally Recognised
Our philosophy of considering every possible option and taking a long-term view to optimise the outcome ensures every design will be safe, long-lasting and energy efficient, both for the end user and the environment. This not only has massive benefits for our clients it is an approach that is well recognised and acknowledged by our industry peers as well.
