OUR TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES
We plan and design roadway lighting to combine functionality with form to aid our community connections today and into the future.
With focused expertise, diverse experience, and collaborative teamwork, we create solutions that aid mobility and enhance safety for all users while paying careful consideration to the impact on the local area. Through the use of advanced technologies, we make our roadway infrastructure smarter, safer and more environmentally conscious.
Working with NZTA and Councils throughout New Zealand LDP have been engaged to produce lighting designs and oversee the construction for urban streets and motorways. Environmental factors become a large part of the design process when dealing with motorways that quite often are in remote areas where the impact on wildlife can be massive. LDP has worked with private development companies throughout New Zealand, producing lighting design and specification for the street lighting and architectural features of numerous developments.

Britomart Train Station
LDP was engaged by Auckland Transport to provide lighting design services for underground rail platforms in the Britomart Transport Centre (BTC), a major transportation hub in Auckland’s CBD. The existing lighting scheme for the BTC platforms consisted of an array of overhead recessed metal halide projectors installed in portholes above the electrified train power supply rails, which due to access difficulties and short lamp life led to regular reductions of light levels on the platforms. In addition, new lighting standards commissioned for the construction of the City Rail Link meant the light levels at time of original design and construction of the BTC were insufficient for its safe and efficient future use.
